Peter (piotr) was born in Warsaw Poland
in 1944, but
now very much part of the Australian art scene! Art was an integral part of
Peter's growing up in an artistic family as both parents were artists in their
own right.
He received intermediate art education specializing in plastic arts, in the
faculty of sculpture in Warsaw, Kielce and Zakopane, between the years
1958-1964. Following this early and rigorous grounding he was enrolled in the
Warsaw Academy of fine arts, faculty of sculpture and graduated with honours in
1974. Peter continued his studies under Mikolaj Aleksandarow in the Academy of
Fine Arts, where he studied the traditional casting and drawback works in
sand-moulding techniques and mastering the the process of "lost wax method",
practicing with the finest and most experienced Warsaw foundry men .
Further studies were undertaken with Master borchardt in Kopenick and finally he
emerged on his own and started his public artistic work in 1974.
Peter went on to develop his own creative and distinct artistic style that
exudes incredible power and agility and is characterized with uncompromised
attention to detail...these works are often described as bronze that came to
life with his magic touch!
Peter continues to live and practice his art in Sydney, Australia with many
public works to his name as well as numerous participations in exhibitions
locally and internationally.
